Time for some updates.

So most of my work has been directed into the door panels lately. this is the first time I have every used fiberglass on anything so keep that in mind. They are not finished but they will be next weekend. This weekend I put body filler on them and sanded them down. I probably won't get to that tonight though because I am having trouble getting the rest of the pics off my phone. anyways here is what has been going on.

attaching the fleece to the door.

this part was really hard to do because the way the panel is I had to pull the fleece down a couple inches and then up

towards the right to make the curve. but I got it done.

Here is what it is going to look like

That it for the pics today. expect lots this weekend. there is a lot to be done with both builds and I will make sure to get pics. I have also changed my mind about my mids and highs amps. I am planning on running one of the tarantula 4 channels and a TA.2160. I will run my tweets off the 2 channel and my 4 mids in my front doors off the 4 channel. I will get more power that way. I don't think I mentioned this before but I will not be running a processor or line driver. I will eventually get a Soundstream synthesis but not anytime soon. until then I will use the crossovers that are built into the amps. we did that in my friend car and it worked really well. my head unit only has one set of 2 volt rca's but I will run them to the XXX which has an output that will be ran to the 4 channel which has an output which will run to the 2 channel. it will work out nicely.

anyways I hope to have the box completely finished and painted by next weekend. lots to come this weekend so stay tuned.

For those tweets does the top ring come off to mount them? How do they sound

TDH FTW !!!

attaching the speaker rings and the tweeter template to the door. they were a bit too tall at first but after trimming them down they fit well.

now I know the rings aren't the best and the tweeter template isn't either but once they are all finished it will look good.

got the panels all wrapped up. What I did was stretch the fleece around to the back side of the panel and then staple it to the back. I made sure to staple it so that the staples did not come through to the other side. the only thing I am not to sure about is what to do with the fleece that is not glassed on the back of the panel. I will probably end up trimming it down a bit even though no one will ever see the back of the panel.

now I didn't really get any pictures of actually glassing the panel because it was not easy doing in 20 degree weather. so here is a pic of the panels after the

fleece was covered with resin and the inside of the panels were glassed. didn't cut the holes for the tweeters yet but will do that soon

so that's about it for tonight. like I said I have already put body filler on them and sanded them down but I will update that some other time this week.

these panels should be done next weekend. But until then stay tuned for more.

yes the top ring comes off in order to mount them. They sound very clean and loud. for a period of time those were the only tweets I had in my car and they kept up well with everything else.

Good work on those doors. The focus doors can be hard to do because the door handle.
