Karkov
As stated above, lots of other threads on this. People do both, both are good when done Properly I as well use a 16 ton crimper now, copper lugs, great connection, doesn't come loose, etc. etc. Seems like lots are going to this if you can afford a crimper as fast and easy as it is as well as error proof I recommend it personally. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. TZspeakersZac
Hmm, any recommendations on tools? I think I'll just test the resistance myself and see what happens. Edit: What type of 16 ton crimper? Nah man, it's cuz of the bass.
B-Sh0t
I prefer solder just because its cheaper than a good set of crimps if you dont plan on doing a bunch of installs. I you have a local welding supply they can crimp them for you( I just bring a $5 tip lol).

AMI CUSTOMS
I use mega crimpers, a few thousand crimps and still will use that method, faster and more versatile, easier to crimp over a engine bay then solder IMO. FuriousG
A good crimp is all you need, but if you feel that you need more there's no reason you can't solder that connection you just crimped. It may give you the satisfaction of knowing it's not ever going to move. Personally I prefer to crimp, especially if the connection is close to any intended curves of the ckt. Solder wicked back into a 2/0 lead is not exactly flexible

Rockford96
So my vise isn't real crimping? jk I solder but I will definitely be getting a crimper when I do a big build soldering is to much of a pain compared to crimping My setup, Digital Designs M80 3 Re audio 10's ported tuned to 36 hz Kenwood x-696 SHCA 0 gauge Polk audio coax running off hu
truthsayer
If you have the add on teeth for the vise, then it becomes a crimper. But why not do both? Crimp and solder. truthsayer
