.5 ohm clipping

I have an aq2200, and a dual one sub. Iv been running this on a 2 ohm load, for the hell of it i decided to wire to .5 to see how it went.

I do not have very good electrical so i had my DMM hooked up to the amplifier power/ground to measure voltage.

the amplifier was getting ~11.2v - car off (dipped to 10 once on a peak but was immediately turned down) it was ran in this manner for less than 5mins. gain at 20% hed unit at 35/50- flat equalization.

anyways right before i stopped i looked at the bass knob with clipping led, and that light was going crazy with the amp putting out ~400watts.

my question is if the clip light is not compatable on .5ohm, or if it is working correctly, where is all this clipping coming from?

a second question is what are "your enemies" when wired to .5?

I realize it is much more power hungry, but isnt this only a problem when getting less than 9volts and overdriving the amp?

Heat is also a nonexistant factor, this amp stay colder than ice

Why you play it with that low of an ohm load with the car off?

Okay, i really dont want to break this amp, I o-scoped it and the waves were beautiful which leads me to beleive the clip light doesnt work well at all on .5 it seemed to be pretty accurate on 2 though. How much battery power should i have to properly feed this amp, i want to know how to run this thing without risk of frying it. I was planning in getting 2 of these batteries, but im not sure how to judge them. is there an equation for rms that determines battery power?

thanks for your help guys i just want to be certain my amp isnt in danger.

No it works you were clipping it becausenyour electrical cant keep up and the rail voltage was so low it wasnt capable of producing clean power. In other words you almost blew your amp experimenting
