Got my XL12 hitting pretty hard.

Recommended Posts

Finally got my sub in a box it's happy with, roughly 1.75 cubes with a 4 flared port powered by an RF T1500bdcp. First box I made was around 1.75cubes, but I went with some crazy 3 3inch ports with half of it external. I screwed up the tuning cause it slammed the ultra lows,

But not so great on music whoops. Should have double checked my numbers before building my box.

I don't know how to MultQuote or I would. I plan on changing to a RFt2500 and building a slightly smaller box later, and let stretch her legs. See, if I can't change that hitting pretty hard to HAM. I need a couple more batteries and one more run of 0/1 gauge.

Kyle, I wish I would have bounced my numbers off the SMD comm first. Someone could have saved me from myself.

I've got my XL 10" in a 1.44³ ft box which after displacement is about 1.13³ ft. I have it running off of a DC 3.5k @ 1ohm. Granted mines upgraded with AR cone and high roll surround. They're rated for 2200 rms, so you should be fine just make sure its clean power.

I ran a 12" XL in about 2.5 cubes with a 6" aero tuned to 35 off of a DC 3.5k. Ended up building a 2.2 cube box with a slot port. I think 44 inches of port tuned to 36 or so. Slammed. I'm sure it sounds good but I found out the hard way I was choking the sub when the soft parts gave out.
