Now I got new subs that were budget subs and one of them blew almost instantly. Now my gain was set very low I just don't understand. The amp seems to be acting normally otherwise. Subs= SoundQubed HDC3.112 Amps= Audio Technix1200.1, Sony XM4x40 & Clarion XC1410 Rear= Pioneer 6"x9" coaxial Front= Polk 6 1/4 componants Trunk Lid= Pioneer 6 1/4 coaxil Battery= Optima Yellow-top (front) Shrunken 35AH Wire= 0/2 AWG welding Cable! bbeljefe Posted January 4, 2014 Report Share Posted January 4, 2014 If I'm reading your sig correctly, you have a single 35AH battery and a 125A alternator running an amp that's capable of >2000 watts. That's not enough electricity and if you connect some subs that can handle the power the amp's capable of, you'll probably wipe out the amp. You need 100AH of battery for that amp, minimum. And, you need more alternator. Also, turning the gain down low doesn't automatically mean you aren't clipping. If your preamp voltage is high enough, the gain should be "off".
