I would say if I was getting payed I would spend quite a bit more time on a design compared to one I was doing for free. If I did as many enclosures as Joe does for free, I would most certainly have some sort of "base" designs for driver(s)/power/vehicle. This doesn't mean he does, just my speculation. I've had quite a few very intellectual conversations with Joe to believe he has a very high understanding of enclosure design; I've never been able to talk to RAM, but I've seen his design on facebook.
