Quarter Wave / T-Line tutorial-UPDATED

Other subs I would consider are the FI Alpha 12, FI X-12 (when they become available again), or the FU 750-12.  They would all work well.

While it is best to position the subs side-by-side in the line, you can position them so one follows the other.  If you have the space, you might consider inverting one of the subs (and reverse the wiring so its in phase).  When you have a pair of subs in close proximity with one inverted it can help cancel out some excursion asymmetries and reduce certain types of distortion.

Of course I've looked at Fi's... and I know they are great subs, but expensive, and who knows how long until their X is available again.

But about those FU's, wow ! Those look great ! Nice price too. I couldn't find some of the parameters though... most importantly, the Fs and Qts ? I sent a letter to there support....

Anyway, those are going to be a strong consideration now. Thank you :)

You could always check out the B2 IS12v3's. That's what i'm currently running in my room and it's amazing. Very sturdy subs that do what I ask it to do. 1 12" in a 2.5 ft^3 ported box tuned to 26Hz.

I believe they're still at $150 a piece. That's what I bought mine for.

Measure from one end to the other. Sub placement has no effect on length.

Edit: I think. We need as second opinion.

I'm sure it may has been covered, but I don't want to search this post for it. So let's say I have two subs, one in front the other, where do I start measuring for the port?

The length of the line is measured from the closed end to the open end, regardless of sub placement.  If you are wanting to place the subs 1/3 down the line (which I always suggest), you would measure from between the subs.
