MrGrey13 Posted February 26, 2014 Report Share Posted February 26, 2014 New car, new build, not new to the forum, ive had a build log from my 00 durango on here for a while now but it was time to get a new car. I got myself an 06 Subaru Outback XT Limited completely stock... for now... I plan on keeping it a clean install all around, from the audio to performance upgrades. start of the audio collection thats going in the subie. Skar zvx18 and Skar sk1500.1 Cant do anything with the factory radio since the climate controls are integrated... so i got this! Rockford 360.2 with a palm to bluetooth to it and control everything! started the amp rack today while everything else is waiting to get ordered or be delivered. 360.2 and XS D375 will be going under the amps. amps will go on top with the plexiglass between them showing the 360.2 and XS battery. and all of this will be under the floor where there will be another plexiglass window showing the amps. not too crazy about how the plexi just ends... maybe ill add a little wood to fix that so it matches the corners on the other end but that was it for today, im designing as i go so its a slow process. MrGrey13 Posted March 9, 2014 Author Report Share Posted March 9, 2014 already changed some plans... instead of having two amps and using crossovers for the speakers im going full active since i have the 360.2... so that means i had to redesign the amp rack a little... so here it is. amps will be over lapped and almost touch front to back and is about 1/8" from hitting the top... took a while to figure everything out but since the other two amps are the same size it made it a little easier. the hole in the bottom will now be used for fans. also buffed hand polished and waxed my car today... it really needs a full paint job though since its so scratched up and has miss matched paint, but it helped a lot! It'll look like it floats on the light. Just gotta be careful you don't cracked it when you are m I uniting the amps or the plexi frame. You can choose to frost the edges or you can torch em to clear it. Time to run some wire!!! as soon as i got this far i got a call from my wife needing a ride while her car is getting the windshield replaced... this area looks good to run wire through... just gonna cut the vent... "FOR THE GOOD OF THE INSTALL!!" added some spare wire looming from my last car to protect the wire. tore up some foam padding on the underside of the carpet so it still lays evenly. had to cut this foam too... "FOR THE GOOD OF THE INSTALL!!" also found a dash kit for my car, its JDM and i can only get it from japan but i ended up trading a friend my rockford 360.2 for a new pioneer 80PRS!! pretty excited for that! It has to be different! haha I have a sweet idea for the emblem, that's why its not on yet. And I plan on making the headlights white and black.
