Karkov
Is this battery still good to use? I'm assuming it happened during shipping. I am in No way blaming the seller! New battery I bought from someone who had it sitting for 6 months in the original package, so I am second owner but it's a new battery that's 6 months old. Resting voltage was the same for all batteries. I have not yet put a charger to this one. Not sure if i should or not? Try and get shipping company to pay for it? Not real sure what to do or if this battery is still good. jmanjr82
We are working on the claim now, but as you know people are never willing to aid the situation! If Nathan from XS could chime in that would be great as well. I personally would put the charger on it and see if it held the charge. Then I would load test it and check the results. If it checked out fine I would fix the crack and line the batteries up since I know you got 6 of them then you wouldn't really see it. If you had room for a 7th battery I would look into that as part of the claim as well were you keep the damaged batt and get it replaced for your time and troubles. On a side note I presume the other 5 batteries are good?

We'll try the claim thing though and see how it goes. Nathan @ XSpower
Sorry for the delay. My daughter had unexpected surgery last week and I have been out of the office. If the crack is all the way through by now you would probably see some leaking. Has it leaked at all? Easiest way to see if it is going to leak is to put some paper under the battery and hook it up on the charger. If it is going to leak it will by doing this. If there is no leaks, then you are probably fine. If there is a leak, then you have a crack through the case and some of the internal pressure has been released. You could try sealing it back up with some silicone and see how that works. I have ran one that was cracked for a years or so now with no issues. Karkov
No worries on the delay man. It has been on the charger and is indeed Not leaking. I am gonna go ahead and use it as is and be happy. lol Thanks!! I have 2 D3100's and 6 XP3000's all hooked together in the house on a maintainer and resting voltage is 13.2 and they never seem to go any lower for the maintainer to actually kick on so once a day I unplug it and replug it back in just so it charges them up to the high 14's before I let it sit again till the next day. Sometimes I might let it sit for a couple days plugged in if I forget but I have yet to see the maintainer work without me unplugging and plugging back in. The charger is a 7.2 amp and even with all 8 of these beast batteries hooked together it still only takes maybe seconds to minutes to have all batteries reading (VM hooked on each side of the bank) 14.6'ish and rising but then I normally just stop looking because I'm happy with what it's doing, lol. Normal?
