New Subs!! 150db yet?(score updated!)

Recommended Posts

150 is possible with your car, my friend and team mate Nathan Potter owns a 2007 Honda Civic and we got it from a 143.5 to a 151.6 good to take 2nd place at 2013 DB Drag World finals for Street Trunk. You're going to have to deaden the car, doors, roof, trunk lid completely ,most importantly ,before you brace the inside of your trunk you must make the entire trunk AIR TIGHT . givin' the equipt you have it's possible , now remember this, the louder and more efficient your encloser is to SPL to less it is going to be for music. If you're sticking with Alpine, you'll need at least four Type R 12's to pull of 150+ or two Type R 15's if they exsist. getting a hold of XS Power 5100R is a good start.

Hey man, I really appreciate the input! Especially from someone who really knows their stuff.

The best score I could get from the trunk with the R's was a 47.6 on the dash legal. I don't have a termlab for testing any more so I dont want to experiment with deadening or anything that could lower my cars FS just yet.

New subs are Soundqubed HDC3 12's. These are much louder than the Type R's and I put a 9 inch areo port tuned to 50hz in the box and that made a huge difference! Ill let you know how she does next time I get on the meter!

Here are some pics of me on the TL right before I sold the type Rs. This is a legal score and outlaw score.

I have really high hopes for the new subs and port. I will update this thread with any updates on the meter and and little things I do to get louder.

lol type rs

would be insane if you did

I was only 2.4db away ;)

I feel like if I had a TL so I could test every little thing in my car I would be there! Oh well though, on to bigger and better things.

Did I mention I have a handmade, glassed 9 inch areo now? Yeah that will boost my score a bit ;)

Went to a comp yesterday and did a 148.4 with a side firing port in the trunk. First in my class with 6 people in it. Won 1st by 3.4db. No deadening, no H/O alt, only 1 run of 0/1, no flared octoport.

Nothing but gainz to be made here, folks. Stay tuned :)

Nice. Damn nice.

Appreciate it, man! Nothing like a walled groundpounder but for a daily system that can be easily removable and stealth, im lovin it!
