BigManAC Posted March 15, 2014 Report Share Posted March 15, 2014 Hey guys, Im working on a box for a friends Chevy 02 Silverado ext cab. The sub is a SQ HDS2 10'' sub with a Cadence 1600.2. I was looking at prefab ones but none had a deep enough mounting depth. So I did a quick build on Torres and i came out with 1.10cuft of space in a sealed box. The box goes from the passenger side of the truck to the driver side. Seymore Posted March 16, 2014 Report Share Posted March 16, 2014 If I were you, I'd make the box symetrical and throw a 3" port on the non-sub side. The box was 8.5" in the front t and 6.125" in the back Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth.. oh.. wait.. naw.. that wasnt weird.. He probably tearin dat ass up every night. I had drawn up a new design making it symmetrical but he wanted to keep it the way it was so we went with that. We did get it glassed and painted today. All that's left is to run some more wires, put the amp on, some sub spacers, and maybe a port (depending on what he says). The sub has been installed for a week now and I mentioned again that the box would sound better with a port. The guy, after saying no a couple of times finally agreed to give it a shot. (I told him that if he really didn't like it then I would build him a completely new box.) I went into Torres and calculated a aero port for his size box and tuning that would be good. This was my first time doing a aero port and had some trouble geting the sq footage right. Anyway finally got a port that I thought would work and installed it today. Needless to say Seymore was right.
