Question Regarding DC Power Inc

Wow...I must be lucky because I am on my second DC Power alt and no issues. The first was a 320 amp alt and I actually drove up to the shop and hungout with them while they built it. I am running a 370xp alt now because I wanted more top end amps and called them about the alt and it shipped the next day. Maybe its because I am driving a shitty Infiniti SUV... :drink40:

Well I don't feel unlucky I know things happen, I'm just concerned since they can't seem to get mine right. I'm throwing in the towel if this gm regulator doesn't work though. This will make three times I have put this alternator on. Although they say third time is the charm.

Just my experience, I ordered a 270XP in February of 2011. Within about 3 months I had the voltage regulator crap out on me. Sent it back and had it back within 2 weeks. Then the regulator crapped out on me again right before Slamology in 2012. Sent it back and have went back and forth through emails. Long story short I've practically given up and haven't seen my alternator since I sent it back almost 2 years ago and I'm out the $600 I paid for it. If you have the alt and have problems I would try a different company to repair it if possible. I talked to Mike Singer at Slamology before I sent it back to DC and wish I would have let him repair it. Not just trying to be a dick about them because when I had the alt it performed amazing. Just hated when I was 20 miles from home and my voltage dropped to 11 volts with nothing but the engine running. The alt just had problems with the regulator I guess.

Sounds like what I'm dealing with except first time around mine only worked for about a half hour total and then crapped out. Second time around it was about 10 minutes. First time around though it worked really well when i played my system, although right now its only a rockford t500bdcp at one ohm. I have a DD SS5 I am going to run though and want to do things right so I ordered the alternator. I'm not going to eat the $520 I paid though if it isnt right this time around. I have already contacted my bank about disputing the charge if they say no to a refund after I send it back a final time. I have thought about contacting Mike Singer about him possibly fixing this thing but think I would rather just purchase one new from him.

Ok I got the other regulator today and was curious if someone could answer a question for me. They have yet to email the instructions so im waiting for that, however, this is a 2000 Honda Civic EX. Factory plug has 4 wires. This gm plug only has two. He is telling me this will bypass the eld in the car but my concern is will this pop a check engine light. I should have asked him on the phone but didnt think of it right then. Im gonna call back once the instructions are sent and ask but in the mean time does anyone have a clue.

Well as an update for tonight, I got the regulator in and alternator back on and so far so good. It was charging around 15.1 with motor cold and I assume about 14.8 once the motor warmed up. I am assuming since I didn't verify with my dmm and was looking at the voltage gauge inside the car. I drove around for about 20 minutes and it seems ok so far. No charge light and no check engine so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
