WillistonAudioLabs
Check out this impressive showing of a 1994 amp from MTX...the Thunder 2300. Amp is rated as follows: 150W/ch at 4 ohms (300W bridged at 8 ohms) 12.5V 300W/ch at 2 ohms (600W bridged at 4 ohms) 12.5V 750W at 4 ohms bridged Dynamic Power (IHF-202 Certified, 1kHz, 14.4V, 1% THD) Does it survive or go up in smoke? Skullz
There was a reason we paid what we did back in the day compared to today's gear. EDIT: What is considered today as military grade was off the shelf parts back then and everything was made with them. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
WillistonAudioLabs
Is this the most underrated amp you have tested? Certainly impressive I believe it is! It always makes me smile to see an amp do much better than I expect, because more times than not, I'm left unimpressed with results of Internet branded "underrated" amps... Deeznutz
I had 2 two these bad boys back in the day. They were super clean amps. Definitely gave Fosgate a run for their money. I had one 4 pushing Kicker Competition C12A's...hmm....when I was 26? lol. The other was a spare, sold it instead. I remember the slogan at sound Advise "1 dollar per watt". I missed out on one a few months ago. Sold for $145 w/free shipping. Damn! Though not as impressive. I just finished selling my MTX 280, 2160, and 4160. The 280 and 2160 went to the same person on ebay. D wanna test my Xtant X1001? -Frank
