mmotux
What size fuse do I need under my hood to run 600W RMS and maybe an extra 100W with my highs and mids?
ToNasty
What wire are you using? ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
rockFord_Expedition
You fuse for the wire you are running. Not the power you want to draw. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire

rockFord_Expedition
idk it red and fat not to fat though If that's the amount of input/effort you are going to put into your thread then you are going to get dog shit in return. You are being asked what size wire you are going to run because the amperage rating of the wire dictates the max fuse size you could safely use. For 4ga OFC don't go over 150a and for 1/0 OFC don't go over 300a Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
ToNasty
Red and fat but not to fat ? Never heard of the gauge before ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Miguels
red makes it hold more amperage. fat is just overkill but just slightly since its not too fat my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
bbeljefe
You need to know what size and what material the wire is made from in order to determine what fuse to use. If it's ofc it will handle more current than CCA but as was mentioned above, your under hood fuse is there to protect the wire, not the gear. OFC is oxygen free copper and is usually tinned with silver so it will look like it's silver from the side but it will be copper colored when you look at it from a cut end. CCA is copper clad aluminum and it will be just the opposite. And if it's copper colored on the side and the end, it is copper. Also, the jacket on ofc will normally read "oxygen free copper" while the jacket on cca often reads "oxygen free cable". rockFord_Expedition
idk it red and fat not to fat though Are you describing wire or dog dicks? Because when you describe wire you say things like 8ga, 4ga, 1/0 or 0ga (same thing) not that ^^^^ Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
Miguels
per his knowledge of the wire he has i will assume he was sold 4 gauge cca.. when you get sold the good shit they keep reminding you what youre getting.. when its cheap stuff they just tell you this is all you need and no other information my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
