1 15 inch AQ or 1 18 inch AQ HDC4 whats the maximum air space?

im wanting to bulid a box for 1 15 inch AQ or 18 inch AQ im tuing the box to 41 hertz i have a box desgin for 10.65 cubic feet but didn't know if thats going to big for 1 15 or 1 18. i can cut it down but 10.65 is what would like to stick with cuase i can have that size box in my trunk and still have room for my amps and batteries on the side.

10.65 is a big box to big for a 15, go for the 18.. Why do you plan on tuning so high, will you be competing ?

10 cubes is too big for the 18. they need around 6.5 NET.

6.5 cubes with 100-110sqin of port area.

I'd do 1 hdc4 15 in a trunk with around 4-4.5 cubes net. Depending on the car. Remember unless you're firing it towards the cabin sealed off from the trunk u need space for the sound waves to travel around the box and into the cabin.

And if I were you I would design another box that's 6-8 cubes, 10 cubes is pretty damn big for 1 18

For most rap a tuning of 32-35 Hz would be good but if your competing I'm not too sure on what the tuning should be. A daily driver also? If so I would tune lower than 41 hz

I'm tuned to 41 with my 2hdc3 12s. Still plays lows 35hz sounds best to (my) ears and has roll off at 29hz. To be real I had them in a box at 35hz and it sounded much better. I think you should go down a bit in the tuning. They can play up high and dig down low from 35hz. I know when I do a new box I will go back to 35, but that's just me..
