What is THE best line out converter on the market right now?

Recommended Posts

Alright guys, long time no speak. I traded in the srt4 and now have a 2014 VW GTI. The lack of bass is driving me absolutely insane. I do not want to take out the OEM Headunit because it has all the OEM bluetooth shenanigans, including steering wheel push to speak and other functions.

So this has led me to looking at line out converters. I noticed Steve made one, but I guess it never got out of prototype stage which is a huge bummer because I would have loved to run one.

What in your opinions is the best Line out Converter on the market?

I plan on running a single amp to a single sub, right around 500w give or take, a safe smaller subtle install in the trunk. Looking forward to your insights everyone, and thanks for reading.

I would get a processor over a line converter in a heartbeat.

forgive my ignorance, but what is a processor? I've been away from this for quite a while now lol

I think the AudioControl products are top quality processors (they perform other functions as well as loc) but I'm installing a JL Cleansweep to integrate with OEM. The RF360.3 is a little pricey right now, but eventually I'll swap for that unit. I chose Cleansweep because it will accept a super wide signal strength range (like 200mv up to 30v) and it re- eqs the signal.

I used an Audio Control LCi unit and it worked just fine. It depends on how advanced the amps crossover is too allow you to tweak things there or not. Don't get me wrong I'd love to add a nice processor to the mix but the AC unit is doing a fine job.
