Naw, just use the Torres calculator to get your rear to the size you need then repeat with the front. Then make sure your design flows (sub towards the port and a smooth flow from the rear port to the front port). Of course you know nothing is set in stone about these enclosures and your best bet is to build with change in mind. That is why my box worked out so well, I built it with enough volume and in a way that I could change in case of bad results. You always have to prepare for problems and you can always make a box smaller if need be.

finally got the 8" sub, ended up getting an atomic 8" with a 2.5" coil.

CT Pro Audio 8" in front, 6.5 in rear
