Sub Cabinet Designs for PA/DJ use

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for plans for 2 different cabinets for PA/DJ type events. one using 2x 18" Sundown X series, and the other using 2x Skar 18" ZVX series. Both cabinets will be seeing their max recommended power, ~3k each. They are for 2 different venues if that matters, so they don't need be the same in any manner.

If you could help out I'd be happy to compensate you via Dogecoin, Bitcoin, Litecoin, or vaping supplies!

thanks in advance

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

Curious as to what audio amps you will be using.

Subs are D1s for nominal 4 ohm load per channel/cabinet.

I suck at designing cabs otherwise I would have a go, if you have room a large horn inclosure will be effecent as heck and they get low as well.

Also dont trust the meters on that amp. Ive seen lots of people simply blow them up lol they arent built the best by any means so just keep an eye on it

Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at.

I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k.
