There are some options here on the power range:

Not very recommended but cheap and can be used on a single D4 sub while the above will work with a single D2 sub, the following will work well on a single HDS200 series sub:

Many other options out there just make sure impedance matches the sub you pick.

I'm just looking for quality long lasting at a affordable price. Around 300-400. Between sub and amp. I do carpentry for a job so I can build a box once everything's bought. Just want simmering that will last and be twice as loud as what I have considering 400$ is a chunk of change.

Ideally with that budget should I aim for one sub 750ish RMS, our two at maybe 4-500.

I really like the looks of the hds300, but have never even heard of the brand and an weary of getting what I pay for.

There's so much new products. SVD have no clue where to even begin. I just simply know my price range cap is 400ish and want louder then what I have

The amp you liked is not RMS rated so despite you see 600W it will deliver about half of that, the one I linked will deliver RMS, hifonics as a brand is fair and some people experience reliability problems with them some other people have luck and have no issues, if you want to risk it just make sure you pick one RMS rated.

On the box doing subs up will cause a lot of lid / rear deck rattling and you will loose some loudness due to the energy lost to rattling so it's usually not recommended to do that, some people do it regardless using a ton of deadening and learn to live with the issues, I just point this out to people so that they know.

  • 1 year later...

I am so confused at this point. I just picked a pair of the same subs and they sound decent. But I am using them in a sealed box, with a Rockford Fosgate P500.2 bridged to them. They are ALLLLLLLLL the way in the back of a 12 passenger Ford E350 van. I want loud and I know what I have amp wise will not allow that much. But I have seen 10"s do small hairtricks, so I know I have a chance!
