Finally got my "Side Slider" kit from http://www.soundmanca.com and i can't wait to get started! Unfortunately (well i don't mean it like that LOL) my parents are in town from Florida for the next week. I won't be starting this until mid week next week. I am waiting on an ipod/iphone dock that will give me an optical output that i can send into the 3sixty.3 for ultimate quality. Ill have to gut it out since it is a dock and all i want is the parts Bluetooth is good but all the shaking makes the dongle pop out sometimes. Plus, i am a big fan of that optical input, i use it on about 3 of my rides now and it is wonderful. Anyhow, i gotta nice spot on the dash planned for this and i am pretty sure i can pull it off. The kit will help a lot!

So a day or 2 ago, i finally started the dash. As you might know by now, i am putting in an Ipad Mini. I got the "side-slider" kit from Doug at Soundman http://www.Soundmanca.com . I am JUST now at a point where i will show the progress as i wasn't sure at first how it would go. Normally i don't like to show "in progress" fabrication just in case i decide not to do it that way and scrap the project. Usually once it gets to the primered stage, i am ready to let people see it. This was a LOT of work so be kind...it needs another few hours of sanding and of course a paint job. It is still rough but you should get the idea where i am going with it by the time you get to the bottom

Of course, before i even started, i had to address what to do with all the switches and sockets that were on the stock dash. Time to relocate.

Some of you asked how this is attached. I used #8 screws drilled in and filled over as studs, with lock washers and wing nuts on the back side of the dash (where they pass through). I used wing nuts because it is hard to get a tool up there but not to bad fitting a hand in. Anyway, it worked GREAT!
