A cheap easier way to cut

Recommended Posts

Thought I would share the track saw I made. Makes cutting a breeze and cost next to mothing to make. All you do is make your marks on each end of the cut and set the track on each mark and boom! Perfect cut every time.

To make: cut a piece of 3/4" wood (mdf, ply, whatever) about 12 - 14 inches keeping the factory cut edge to one side. Now router a 3/4" groove with a straight bit over from the factory edge further in than you saw blade is from the edge of the plate. I used a piece of UHMW to mount on the saw but used something that slides in the groove smoothly. Whatever you use mount it to the underside of your saw. Making sure your blade is 90 degrees put it in the groove and make your cut. That gives you the perfect egde on your track.
