Once they find something that matches that signature they start looking deeper. You dont have to actually be the one downloading that file you just have to be able to download that file from someone on the same p2p or torrent network. I could make my computer look like its from china if I wanted to. Thats not counting all the backdooring free wifi etc that goes on. Chasing ips is like chasing a ghost. And I'd have to admit yes there is utorrent on my laptop from a while ago that never got deleted. But these are all songs I've never heard of. So should I just not worry? What would a proxy do or how does it work? Cuz my parents are pissed about them but I'd what to do. I'll start with changing the Internet and WiFi around after that idk. Remove utorrent I bet it stops. They are seeing the traffic because the client is live and sending and receiving the status traffic. Its not a local router issue imo and if it is. Just some random info ...
