Krakin
I don't ready funny colored posts. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. nCOMP1337
yea that stuff is terrible. I ordered a sample, of the supposed butyl based deadener they had and it was terrible. I had audio technix to compare it to as well as samples from second skin. The samples from second skin were 1/4 the size (total area) of the sample from those guys and it was still better. The asphalt based one is nothing more than rebranded peal n seal at best.
P4killer_
Im actually using the stinger road kill atm. As in right now as we speak. You can actually order the stuff from walmart.com for $95 shipped. I posted about a sonixelectronix sale for $100 which i thought was a good deal from a reputable site, and it is. But if you could save 5 bux and get it off amazon or walmart.. why not? Anyway, Im pretty happy with the stinger stuff. Its plenty sticky. I didnt have to heat it up with a heat gun etc. Its held for the last week just fine so far. Doesnt make my car smell all crazy. Its not the thickest stuff Ive ever used. Id say its average. Im sure SS is better. Id give it a B. But SS is also $203 for the same thickness, and 36sqft. If you got a b-stock pack its like $120 plus shipping and you get 30sqft. So make of that what you will. BigManAC
I used fatmat but the MegaMat which is their only line that is made with the butyl rubberized material. Is it as good as second skin? I do not believe so. That being said it does have a great price tag. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw

Kranny
lol second skin is too expensive? you do realize with cheap deadener you will have to put on more layers or cover more areas with cheaper deadener? more cheap deadner vs less higher quality deadener = same price in the end. or even spending more on the cheap shit than the real stuff. the logic. hispls
Any of you old timers remember the days when every "sound deadener" was asphalt based?
