lowrhadur
Wanting to add an auxillary battery to my 02 Yukon. I'm thinking an optima yellow top on the passenger side with an isolator. I will be running 2 DC 1.2K pushing 2 lvl 3 15's at 1ohm Also my mids and highs are amplified as well at about 400w rms Will a 140amp alt and aux batt be enough to support this system? Thanks in advance!

Also.. why are you isolating anything? and, for 1k .. 90% of stock elec will be fine..... All in all I will be around 2700-3000 watts rms with all three amps. Would an xs batt be better? All my electrical will.be coming off the aux battery. IMHO It really depends on what model and type of car the alt. is being put in. Obviously, trucks and SUV's tend to have a little larger alt. stock than sedans and coupes. IMHO To separate the batts when the ignition is off?? Just see that most people who run the aux batt use isolators...

IMHO No idea about the isolator, and I would think that a good enough second battery would be fine also but you know a shitload more than I do. I just had noticed the 2 1.2k's in the original post. lowrhadur
Good, saves me a hundred bucks... But, will 2 batts and a 140amp alt support upwards of 3k rms? Its in a 2002 GMC Yukon
