The winner cheated though with some sort of a scripting program. I didn't know you could do that. Since i didn't specify "no cheating" or back-dooring the system, i have no choice but to give it to him. Within 5 minutes of me announcing it, dude had the answer. You have to have monumental good luck for that to happen. But then he claimed having "a team of 3" helping him. Well that don't make sense. You mean to tell me you have 3 buddies working 24/7 watching all of my video's morning noon and night? So 4 days after the original annotation, i didn't tell anyone i was about to drop it but they were all ready at 7:20am when i actually did it......ya RIGHT.

so i look at this guy's twitter account. He is a computer programmer and web developer. I call him out on it and he deletes his account.

then i look and see the exact same avatar on his OTHER google page https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/111798424772824865669/109365577376620160634/posts and find out he is a really high tech dude. Full Stack Developer & Programmer (VB, C#, Python, Java, C++). No doubt he cheated and there was no "team of 3".

+meade916 Honestly, I did work on a script with my team. We are all bass heads and there was no rules against it. I used the YouTube annotation API and checked against it for lightning audio annotations. Sorry if you feel like I cheated, but to be fair I did not break the rules.

I knew it. I am not dumb. And to be "fair" he didn't break the rules because i forgot to specify NO CHEATING. I should have known if it involves a computer, there will be cheaters.

so all that being said, i will reluctantly give him the prize. I am truly sorry to all you people who watched all the video's and worked hard to find the first clue only to be shut down by this cheater.

ill try to make it harder to cheat next time. If there is a next time.

Sucks that the dude had to try and lie about it. I understand wanting to have an edge on the competition but lying when you get called out on it is being a coward. If you have the balls to cheat then have those same balls to own up to it when your outed. Hopefully this can be avoided in the future so people don't take advantage of a contest designed to expose people to informative videos.

As a Police officer I can tell you there is a huge difference between Morally Wrong And Legally Wrong. This guy is in full compliance with the rules and as such what can you say, nothing.

I don't know why this has bothered me so much, but I"m really f**king pissed off about this...I spent a LOT of damn time trying to find the annotations and win this amp, and I get beat by a cheating, low life piece of shit! It should go without saying that you can't cheat on the damn contest! Don't let this baby-dick fag ruin the fun Steve, we all love and GREATLY appreciate the things you do, especially giveaways and contests. Karma will get him, so don't worry Steve...he WILL get his. You're a stand-up guy though for still giving him the amp...cuz I can't say I would do the same.

Anyway I just find it amusing he has all this knowledge and skill and he couldn't think to wait a bit after the vid came out?
