Subs spider sagging down.

So i got a few old school Orion XTR 15-4S subs used from a local guy cheap. first thing i did was check the coils and they all check out great but i never thought to look and see if the spider was sagging and its got a slight sag now that im looking at them. I'm wondering how does this effect the sub? Is the sub more likely to bottom out? thats the only real thing i can think of. He says they were just recently taken out of the vehicle so he claims they were not stored or anything with the sub facing up. Idk if this is just basic wear on the spider getting softened up or from it sitting. Any input would be great. I guess i should really get them hooked up to see how they perform since i haven't done so yet, just still working on building a box for them.

I had a set of RF HX2's that had some sag in them and yea they would bottom out pretty easy but loaded correctly with only one window down they would go hard but the second a door opened or the other window was down they would smack the bottom hard, but I do have to add they where seeing about 1100rms each.

From what I have read people store them sitting sideways and I have even heard people say they rotate them face up and down every month but IMO I would say support them on there side.

support them on the side and rotate every month or so?

I don't think rotating them is really necessary, as long as they are on there side it eliminates most of the weight and gravitational pull on the spider, cone, and surround. I am still wondering how its going to effect there performance playing with a little sag. Trying to get some feedback from some more people. Lol

Are they loose? Ive got some 97' xtr 6.5s that sag and are loose, along with a orion 2nt 15 sv4 and its sagged. I think once its loose as a caboose you wont be able to fix it without recone. I wouldn't worry much as long as you dont wang on it super hard and over power it.

laying them on the side would make the cone and surround sag differently/off centre wouldn't it

true but i think it would effect it alot less then having the face sitting up or down.. Possibly lay them facing up with cardboard or something of that nature to support the cone up???
