SPL.Pantie.Soak
Hey guys, I recently installed my new alternator in my 2001 VW Golf and it will not charge at idle, like it will literally gives no output, however, step on the gas and raise the RPMs 200 more and I go from 12.8 to 14.8 and it outputs lotss and lots of amperage as it should once the RPMs are up. Moral of story- 600 RPMs no output, 750-800 great voltage-output 1 Quote Kenwood KVT-614 (4) Marathon 155 AH batts 2/0 OFC SHCA Mechman 370 (2) Audioque 3500.1 (2) AA Mayhem 15s

Broke_Audio_Addict
What brand of Alt? And a 600 rpm idle is pretty low so it's not surprising Edited October 13, 2014 by Broke_Audio_Addict Quote That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. SPL.Pantie.Soak
The pulley I am using is from Mechman and is noticeably smaller than my OEM one. I am afraid that with an even smaller pulley my belt will slip. Smaller belts are not available for my car unfortunately (7 rib double sided..) hdorre
Thats one of the tradeoffs with a huge alt.. especially 3 phase Low idle output, if any. Smaller pulley *may* slip under load.. but the only other way that i can think of is a diff crank pulley (depending on ur belt routing).. and that can prove to be a bitch. 3 Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
SPL.Pantie.Soak
I thought this was the alt that was supposed to do a ton @ idle? Im fairly certain its a 6 phase. Like the difference in 100 RPMs means output and no output??? Thats crazy!? Its insane, but true. 1 Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
