Supplies:

1 mono block Amp

4 dual 4 ohm subs

Ok You Know How A Mono Amp Goes ++-- I was wondering if I got 2 subs and wired them to 1 ohm and connect them to one neg and one pos then do the other 2 the same way and connect them to the other pos and neg on the same amp will that work to have 4 subs in one box

Final load will be .5 so hopefully your amp can handle it...amp is probably wired in parallel internally...

What model and RMS amp do you have? What kind of subs and how many RMS are they? You have two choices, a .5 ohm load or a 2ohm load. Most amps cannot handle .5ohm daily, so I'm thinking your best bet is a 2ohm load. In this case, check the 2ohm RMS rating on your amp, divide it by 4 and that's what each sub will get. If it's much lower than what the subs are rated for, you will need a bigger amp or another amp.

Here are the two possible wiring configurations....

Ignore the 3rd, 8ohm option as it isn't needed in your application. Unless of course the amp is a DC 10k and the subs are Power Acoustiks, lol :roflmao:

To actually answer your question, The ++-- on the amp is essentially a parallel connection. So two subs going to one +- and two going to the other is essentially all four subs going into one. Yes, you can have them all in one box and same airspace if it's on one amp

You can have them all in one box and airspace even if its 2 different amps. You just have to gain match from there.

Op, if you wire 2 subs to 1 ohm and anther 2 to 1 ohm then coonect the to Te same mono amp your dropping to .5ohms.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

If he does with series/parallel, it will be a 2ohm load....

Yes but he was ask g if he wired 2 pairs of subs down to one then connects both to the amp if it will work. That would give him a .5ohm load. Maybe the amp can or can't handle that. Best way to find out is try. However I isn't recommended. At that point your throwing the dampening factor out the window. Drawing a lot more power to get a lower sq and small gain. Needs greater electrical and its higher risk.

If it's a mono amp, it's as simple as wiring as in the diagram I linked above. That would give him a 2ohm load, rather than a .5ohm.
