Hard drive suggestions please

Recommended Posts

seems like a good deal to me.

Plus, in the future you can still get a cheap spinning HD with tons of space for storage. Boot to the SSD and use it for your most used programs. Put pics and video's and other bullshit on the storage drive. But 500gb SSD for that price is good and it will be ok for a while until you start to fill it up.

but i PROMISE you that you will thank me (and others) for suggesting it. It really is the most "worth it" upgrade you can do to a PC in the last 10 years.....

I use WinDirStat to determine where data is at and where to move it around.

I like it a lot, because ever bit is represented visually as well in the normal column category.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

Different people will argue different things but in my personal experience I'd say avoid seagate drives. I have seen more than my share of seagate drives shit out for no reason. I'd stick with western digital.

since the new drive wont be here till probably friday, im going to use an old 256GB drive do a clean install of win 8.1 with drivers and all and mirror it when the SSD gets here. My physical drive is slowly getting worse so i think failure is eminent. :(.

get the SSD you dont have to get a big one. get one like 32gb to run your operating system and use the old one to save things

already ordered the intel 480GB one :)

the start up from SSD from the regular HD is night and day. my laptop is old so i dont get much of its performance but its has doubled my start up and opens files quicker.

i paid more for a 250 a year ago. thats a good deal
