Bumpindemlowzz
My new battery reads 14.4 with engine off with it running 16.15 stable with heater on max and radio. This is after running 30minutes. It this safe on a 12 volt system or what? This is my daily ride. Battery is a D4800 XS Power and a Mechman 270xp vehicle is Ford Escape XLT 2.3 lr 4 cyl Quote 2010 Silverado 18" DC XL 18 DC 2k XS Power Batts
reedal
is that a reading with a DMM, or a voltmeter? reedal
maybe it has something to do with that noise then. I'm no expert or have much knowledge at all as to how much is too much for car electrical, but I've seen before where it's not recommended to go over 14.8 on a 12V system. I'd say put the stock alt back in if you still have it, measure voltage again with it, and if it's different/"normal" voltage levels call mechman and tell them whats up. Bumpindemlowzz
Id love to be able to do that but i need vehicle for work. And thats a 150 install plus uninstall then reinstalling new alt again. This is gonna cost some dough i dont have. Bumpindemlowzz
Another thing to think about is its 20 degrees out doesnt that cause voltage to be higher then usual Quote 2010 Silverado 18" DC XL 18 DC 2k XS Power Batts
reedal
the cold will put it up some, but it shouldnt be that much i wouldnt think. Maybe low 15's at the most for a 12V system until its warmed up some, then back into 14's. i would call mechman about it.
