Zx1337xZ
I received my mechman 370 alternator today and installed, however it's charging at 19v I'm sure this is not safe and was wondering if I did anything wrong. I have big 3 all 1/0 Memphis wire. Any help would be appreciated
Miguels
did it come with the voltage adjuster? my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Omega5002
Something is wrong with the voltage regulator if it's outputting 19 volts without you wanting it to. I would send it back before it screws up your vehicle's computer(if that's your only alternator) and/or your batteries. Only kind of batteries that should see 19 volt is 16 volt batteries and that's still pretty high. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

Zx1337xZ
No voltage adjuster just the clip from the Oval 4 pin to the alt which was pretty much the same wire, it did however have the blue wire doubled and a long piece wrapped up but I left it alone. I looked online and from what I could find that was the ignition wire? I tried taking the clip out and just using the stock plug but it was still around 18.
Miguels
what dmm are you using to get your reading? my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Zx1337xZ
It's just a craftsman dmm but even inside the voltage shows to be high on the dash
Miguels
sounds like the regulator has a problem.. i doubt it though because they test the alts before getting out the door and by the way the box should say the voltage it was running when they test it my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
rockFord_Expedition
With the engine off, what does your battery read with that same DMM? IS the battery going bad on your DMM? audiofanaticz
is your multimeter reading proper voltage when the car is off in the 12-13volt range to rule out its not the meter itself?
