BassObsessed192
So my Wall seems to be getting a ton of flex in the Rear of my Tahoe. The hatch is Flexing pretty bad even though I thought most of the air was only hitting in the front area. I realize now that the problem is the shop that built my wall did NOT seal it off at all. It's very close to the Roof Lining but not 100% against it. And the Rear Side Doors look like they need a lot of MDF/filling/etc if I ever want this thing playing the way it should. I've heard plenty about Great Stuff Spray Foam with plastic or something. I've also heard about using Cardboard in some way (not sure I understand that). I'm not very knowledgeable about doing the "install works" myself and just would like to know whats the best route to get this thing to stop getting huge air movement in the back. And I do hope one day to make my Wall colored somehow (vinyl?) so the whole interior looks just as good as it sounds. Any experts on this that can shed some light for me? If you'd like me to post some specific pics of certain areas I can do that. I just hope I can get some better info and EXPLANATION of how to actually do this stuff! Its not too helpful to me to just say "use spray foam" or whatever. I need a little more detail granted I've never got involved in anything like this myself. - Thanks Guys! Team_DC-Derrick
you literally use a little bit of spray foam around the whole wall, dont use a ton because that shit gets messy fast... you already knew what the answer was... the only way to stop pressure from leaking back is to seal it, either by making the wall a perfect fit *and it will still leak if you dont seal it* or by fiberglassing or any other method, Ive known some people to use concrete.. about 4 bottles of spray foam going little by little would do the trick, if you dont care about the interior of the vehicle The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... BassObsessed192
Ok and I kinda DO care about my interior. How does the plastic sheeting or whatever work with spray foam then? And as far the Rear Side Doors they have quite a bit of space between the door and the wall. How do I fill all that in properly? Robin Butler mentioned something about new "trim panels" im not even sure what that is

BigManAC
Take some cardboard and make a template of the areas between the wall and the edges of the car. Transfer those onto MDF (or any wood) and cut them out. Secure them in place with screws or L brackets if you have to. Then cover the parts of the car you do not want to get messed up around the wall and sprays some of the great stuff (black is what I used) from the backside of the wall. Dont use too much because it expands a lot so be careful about how much you use. Trim away any excess and you should be good to go. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw
BassObsessed192
How did you build a wall without knowing what trim panels were I didnt build the wall. I paid someone to, "Wow Electronics". And evidently they didn't know about sealing it off. I don't do installs myself, never have. Very little knowledge on that sort of thing. But im willing to learn, especially when it comes to getting this thing fixed right

audiofanaticz
First mistake is paying someone to build your wall and they don't know how to complete the job.. Hope you didn't pay to much! Only way to really seal it off will be foam to make it air tight. Usually when you wall a vehicle, you strip the interior out so it doesn't get ruined and you can always go back to stock with at most needing a new headliner.
