Is it good or bad or crimp wires then solder?

See I was told it works that way for city ac and dc

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

Nope its only for ac.

It's caused by the back emf which is proportional to the rate of change in magnetic Flux, the closer you are the the center the stronger the Flux which is why the ac rides the outer skin of the wire

The rate of change of the magnetic Flux for dc is 0 so it can utilize the whole conductor.

At least thats how i understand it anyways but there are a bunch of guys here much smarter than me on the subject so maybe they will chime in too

Here's some reading on it if you're interested

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

So do you guys think the KnuKonceptz terminals are good? My only reasoning for not wanting to get get copper lugs is the fast oxidation.

wire and supply .com they have tinned copper lugs. thats where i buy all my hardware. the tinned copper prevents or at least slows the corrosion

after reading through all the comments im gunna have some input to end this debate.

enough with this soldering. no high voltage or most anything important solders for cost and for connection quality. all utility power is crimped aka 69kv 13kv etc. crimped.

the minute you start paying to do a good solder job aka buy silver solder (most conductive) and torch, you can easily have bought a hydrolic crimper. and some 100% copper lugs. I prefer to use tinned copper lugs to prevent corrosion from wire and supply .com they have an open ended one and closed ended one. (FYI, sky high lugs are not tinned but are 100% copper i believe, but i have not had an issue with them corroding on the inside of the car (yet), i did not attempt to use on outside of car.)

next after you crimp your OFC to the copper lugs. as i said before idk if CCA works as well in a crimp as ofc due to dis simmilar metals. Ideally you want copper wire and copper lugs so when crimped under high pressure they cold weld and fuse together.

make sure the lugs are closed end. after the connection is made, buy adhesive shrink wrap. put this around the lug and over joint and onto wire. when heated the glue melts and the wrap shrinks and you have an air tight connection that wont corrode.

that in my opinion is the best way to do it.

summary

tinned copper closed end lugs, 16 ton crimper with 70mm die for 2/0 gauge wire (equivalent to sky high and knu 1/0), adhesive 3m shrink wrap from parts express, ofc wire.
