mrazandrewm
Personally, I wouldn't do a labyrinth slot port. Too many 180 degree bends. I would use a simple L-slot port. Also, you should add 45's in the corners to stop standing waves inside the enclosure. What are the max dimensions available? Does your friend want it tuned that high? Type of music? Triticum Agricolam
Kinda like mrazandrewm said, I would suggest an L-shaped port instead of the labyrinth. I would put 45s in the corners of the ports for better airflow. I would also suggest a window brace connecting the front baffle with the top, bottom, and back of the box. Other than that it looks great! Nice job with SketchUp. I absolutely agree on everything and 45s will be added I just didn't know how in sketchup. I would also do a standard L slot but the friend I designed this for likes the the look of a labyrinth port. ( not sure why) We could make the box bigger but he's going to be running a scv1500 to it he didn't want it too big. The box he has now for his HDC3 15 is tuned to 34 hz and he said he wants it a little higher. So I'm just going by what he says. mrazandrewm
I have a sketchup file of 1.2 cubic feet tuned to ~37 Hz using the outer dimensions you gave me with the same port area. I just increased the port length from 28.5" to 37". I also included a window brace and 45s in the corners. Not related to OP...but Triticum...can you check out which enclosure design I should do for my truck in my thread? Thanks.
