Got a couple of these getting ready to be in action this year in competition. Things are going to get real!

A couple ???!!! So, you have a "car" to run those beasts ?

I'd love to see that.

Congratulations

It's not that difficult to turn it over.

900amps= 900*15V=+- 13.5kW, about 15kW if you count in efficiency.

15kW=20.1Hp, it's only about 11.2HP at idle.

Just rev up the engine a little bit and youll be fine.

A BMW 320i already has 30+ HP at 1.5k rpm.

Does no one think the belt will have issues; really?

Do the math

1 hp is 550 lbs lifted up 1 meter (3.2ft) in 1 second

You think something that has 11 times that amount of drag will easily be turned.... Easy answer hell no... But let's get more reasoning

your turning something that is a rubber on metal friction connection which is held by the pressure of your belt tensioner most people with normal sized dual alts have massive belt slip so when you look at the actual surface area in the pulley it won't be enough to stop belt slip....... The surface area of 3 normal sized pullies is a lot more than one oversized pulley, therefore the three should slip much less than one

If people already have trouble with just three slipping how the hell are they going to make one not slip

And whoever said this is a custom application for under 2000 RPMs you are an idiot

Alternators spin at 2-3 times engine rpms just to make current so at idle

most are spinning 4000 to 6000 rpms just to make power AT IDLE
