Lexus ISF vs Modded Lexus IS350 (drag strip video)

Recommended Posts

The IS-F may run mid 12s in perfect conditions and great air, but they're running high 12s, low 13s more times than not. Anytime you see a listed 1/4 mile time for a car that's on a track with good prep, good temp, good da, and an experienced driver.

You see it all the time at the track when guys bring their stock cars expecting to run a time they saw on the Internet only to feel down afterwards. When they don't take all the variables into play.

Stock naturally aspirated cars are affected by weather conditions more than the modded or forced induction ones.

actually mid 12's are pretty standard STOCK and 13's are standard when the driver messes up (or doesn't have much experience). I would probably do 13's with my 300lb system, my 235lb body and my lack of experience. It don't need perfect conditions just needs a driver that knows when to take off and when to shift. Mid 11's are more rare but like i said, headers and a shot of NOS and it isn't so rare any more.

bet tires would get you a bit more. Slicks and cool day do wonders.

i would rather not have slicks on my daily driver. But i have 285's so there is a lot more meat than people think.

damn this is worse than politics. Video goes up of two lexus cars duking it out and we got people talking about impalas and corvettes.

seriously lol -

not sure why a full blown fiberglassed 2 door race car is being compared to a car like mine other than

A c4 huh?

Slow.

Ya, but its the right C4. 11.50's @ 120 on a 20 year old motor that still gets nods.... I'll take it. Besides, I don't make baller bank anymore.

I don't live my life a quarter mile at a time. But in those 11 seconds or less nothing matters, I'm free. No wife, no kids, no mortgage.... FREE!!!!!!!!

my car does mid 12's stock and is known to do very low 11's on headers and a small shot of NOS. I know a vette is a fullly fiberglassed body, 2 door race car but face it, most of them except some of the higher end models don't want none of the 4 door. Now only imagine if the IS-F was tunable...which it is not.

but beside the point, who gives a fuck about a vette and what does that have to do with this post? smh.

I agree, all I asked was who one. Cause as a corvette owner I can't tell one Lexus from another or a Toyota. It's just not my thing. My reference to corvettes had nothing to do with performance. You were the one who brought up how they get bitch slapped. I never said anything negative. Shit, I don't care if someone drives a 9 sec yugo or a 20 sec porsche

you came in with your smart ass Toyota comment...and it's true, people like you think your the shit with your cool vette and then sometimes learn the hard way. And if you can't tell the difference between an ISF and a standard toyota you are a true smart ass. You know why i don't like vettes? sure they are fast but they are ugly as fuck. To each their own.

To each their own

Rolex you sicken me.

Are you ever going to bring your ISF to the strip Steve?

sounds like fun but i have (again) a 300lb sound system and a 235 lb body....i probably wouldn't do as good as someone who is at the strip every week and serious about it. It would be fun to try a few times but i really am not much into racing. It's fun to hit the NOS though and feel the kick once in a while.
You should still take it, a track day is still fun even if you drive a 20 second pinto.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

We have three locals with them. Not sure on the years and difference between them. I've seen 12.8, 12.9, and 13.1. I have a time slip against the 13 sec one. He was a young guy at the track for the first time so I wouldn't hold that against the car.

By the way I'm not trying to bash the car. I love them. If I wasn't a GM/LSx fan boy and hell bent on the CTS-V, I'd like to own one.

My initial statement pertains to all makes and models. I own a cammed TBSS. I remember when I got it and read it ran high 13s stock. The track is similar to the term lab. It can really hurt your feelings if your expectations are high.

Understood, I am in the process of getting a separate rear rim set and slicks for test and tune days.

Definitely should do a basshead meet up at the track. I would drive my ass to texas for that! Its a great time, but only if you can get a bunch of runs in.

this ISF only has a pair of headers. No NOS. I think his exhaust is done too. I am sure there are plenty of video's of it being the other way around but i'm just saying don't underestimate and don't assume. You never know.

Whole bunch of "who the fuck cares" going on in here. Any car can be made fast. Nice video, Steve.

Where is that track at, bro?

it's what i hate about owning a fast car. 2 people can never both own fast cars and say "nice ride!". One guy has to swing his weenie. For me, i usually have my system on, a cup of coffee in my hand and just cruising. I like having the power on hand when i need it for passing or finding a lane when i first get on the highway. I like that i can downshift and be from 65 to 120 in a matter of seconds. Like stupid fast. Not as fast as the next guy with the longer cock though. Man, i need a "Dickanator 2000" penis pump so i can keep up with the crowd. LOL :D
and i think the track is named in the video. Thought it was anyway.
