He's only going to pull whatever can be supplied from under the hood across the wires. 270A alt (minus some for the vehicle) plus the battery up front equals more than the 250A (at best) the CCA is rated for at 20-ish feet. So, using 1/0AWG CCA, two runs of wire. Cablguy, do you mean 2/0AWG? As I mentioned above, if you don't have a whole lot under the hood, there's really no need for it if you're grounding to the rear battery [bank]. If you're only chassis grounding, then there is. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. Ok, so using the method you suggested, I would still be correct. I said two runs. So, either you didn't understand what I said or you didn't really read what I said. Cars are a fairly simple circuit in terms of what size wire/fusing to use where when strictly talking alt/batteries/amps. If you lay it out, it's not hard to see where you will get what kind of draw.
