ditto_
Run Futuremark to bench mark your Gpu. My guess would be the on board graphics. Do it on both computers and compare. Their is alot of different bench mark apps out that are free.
ChevyBoy95
I do torrent music and movies a decent amount (probably a movie or 2 a week cause i dont watch TV). I have antimalware, AVG, and whatnot, is there anything specific that could check or work better than the ones listed? Krakin
If you get spybot search and destroy it "runs a scan against all known malware". Also don't rule out things just getting old. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. hifonix
So you started with a graphics cards and it died. Did you switch to onboard graphics/video? That would mean the cpu is now having to generate your graphics and do CPU duty as well, that would account for the slow down in performance. Futuremark 3dmark will benchmark your graphics but if you are using onboard graphics I wouldn't bother running it. Under Construction

hifonix
cpu-z http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html That program will show you cpu and memory information. Load times being slow would point to HDD issue,(in most games) try disk cleanup and defrag. Next test the HDD with a utility from the HDD maker(seagate, WD, etc) Is this a off the shelf system or custom built? Everest or speedfan programs will show you the temps on your rig. Is it slow loading anything else? Under Construction
ChevyBoy95
OK well, dusted the motherboard off, moved it to the other side of my desk, and deleted a bunch of bloatware and shit from torrents. Speed is back up to what i remember. (wifi is way better too) Other news.... as im not a super techy person hardware wise.... I need a graphics card, hopefully around 100-200 bucks, old card was a HD6790 (radeon w/ the blue sword on it) which was a 1gb card and worked wonders, so anything around that performance, just dont know about compatibility with my pc and i have an upgraded PSU (550w). Dell inspiron 580 w/ win7 64bit. yurvalentine
I want to say the R9 270x comes in just below $200, and the GTX960 right at about the $200 price point. Both are supposed to be pretty decent.
