Resting Voltage; Are You Guys Full of Shit?

Not so often as much, but I still see batteries posted up for sale that the seller claims are resting at 13.1 and higher. I have used almost every model of XS batteries, both new and used, and charge them using the HF1215. The highest I have ever seen is 12.8x, but most times I'll get 12.6-12.8.

Are these guys using a special charging method, are they full of shit, or do I just have "low end of the spectrum" luck?

the one you sold me rests at 13.1 over night after a good charge. drops to 12.8 by the 24hr mark. it can sit at 12.8 for daysssssssss.. have 5 of them that do the same

my D925 rests at 12.8v while my d3100 rests at 13.1v. The overall voltage is 12.9v

I know this because before I even got everything hooked up I had the 3100 chilling in my car without anything hooked up for like a week. checked it and it was still at 13.1v. It pissed me off when the front battery dragged it down

Less full of shit then understand what resting voltage means, and combine that with a cheap/uncalibrated DMM and there you go.

But it should be around 12.8V, 12.6V is on the low side, eventhough we are talking about less then 2% difference.

Both of my d3100 rest at 12.8 and my d680 also.

We had 6 d3100 sitting for 2 months with no charger on them. All still were resting at 12.8IMG_20141216_133736_879_zpsvix9du01.jpg

6 XS Power XP3000's sitting for 6 months rested 12.5-12.6

They never rest that low anymore now that they are on a maintainer all the time.

However like said earlier, if a person has them charged or charging and disconnects and checks semi-soon after that they will be like 13.0-13.1 but after a dya they fall off and down from there.

I have 10 XS power batteries, 4 different models, and 3 different charges/maintainers.

I'm sure if someone has it hooked up, removes charger, then takes pics. of resting voltage they show 13+ for selling it, lol

Rule of thumb is check at least 24 hours after taking off the charger. I could show my optimal floating at 13 plus if I did it ten minutes after I jnhooked he charger. There are people who claim they can train a battery to float higher too
