aculous
what game are you running? And with that hardware I would doubt it. Also just for performances sake in general I would never run it on ultra. But thats a personal opinion. I usually try to run it at the intersection of my highest FPS with the best quality graphics. Maxim
GTX 770 only has 2GB of VRAM. At 3x1080p with high-res textures and anti-aliasing enabled you're definitely running out of available VRAM. At that point your graphics cards begin to use your system RAM as backup memory to store everything. Normal system DDR3 RAM is much slower than the GDDR5 VRAM on graphics cards and the time it takes to copy textures back and forth is choking your cards and tanking your frame rate. Anti-aliasing - especially MSAA - uses a good chunk of VRAM. It sounds like you disabled AA and your frame rate came back up to a reasonable level. I would say stick to 2x AA max with your setup and play with the other settings on a game-by-game basis to find a good mix of image quality and frame rate. If you can tolerate 0x AA then you'll be able to turn up things like texture resolution a little higher at the cost of jaggies. Even though you have 2x 2GB cards you don't get to add them for 4GB total memory. The second card's memory simply holds a copy of everything stored in the memory of the first card. Since both cards are working to render the same scene on your screen they both need a copy of every texture that is in use. wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 . I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt
RooTxBeeR
Yeah, those cards aren't enough lol. I can play any game up to 1440p maxed out single monitor, but some games at 5760x1080 bring me under my refresh rate and start to make the game look choppy. And I have 2 4GB cards. Need moar powa lol On 11/20/2012 at 8:54 PM, AMI CUSTOMS said: Turned mine up today at a light, guy next to me his steering wheel started moving and he looked over at me like I was a magician lol. RainStryke
If you are upgrading right now and plan on SLI, i'd stay away from GTX 970's... they are not good in SLI. I ended up switching back to a pair of R9 290X's. I'd recommend getting a pair of R9 290X 8GB cards if you want something right now. Otherwise, AMD is releasing a new generation of video cards in June most likely.

Maxim
I was kinda looking to only spend 350 each i also have to buy water blocks and stuff Wait for another month. AMD's new cards are right on the horizon and should be ideal for the high-resolution gaming you're doing. Even if you don't wind up getting one of them then the Nvidia cards will likely drop in price a bit anyway just to stay competetive and you may be able to score some 980's on a killer deal or at least save money on whatever else you planned on buying. wtf is lolcats?
