Getting More Sound Inside Vehicle

Recommended Posts

I have a 96 Acura RL and I will be starting a build doing 3 12"inch subs in the trunk. The thing I'm trying to figure out is trying to get more of the bass in the cabin area of the vehicle than in the trunk. The rear seat has a ski hole. I was thinking firing the subs through the ski hole and put a wall at the back of the box.

Would that work or should I fire them the other direction?

Best way is to play around with it and see what you like. In most cases the small opening in the back of the seat is too small to be effective for forward firing. You may get deeper response from firing back and letting air travel through all natural areas of the back seat and deck. A little experimentation will be fun though.

If you arent willing to cut it go subs and port back surface loading off of the rear trunk wall. Deaden the trunk with Second Skin especially the lid and rear deck.

If you are willing to cut it, seal off the trunk and the rear deck lid with the subs and port firing forward.
