Broke_Audio_Addict
Should also ask what brand of wire and do you know if it's ofc or cca? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. aculous
This could help. That's for power wire. Speaker wire is a bit different. Higher voltage, lower amperage interesting didn't even think about that.

SnowDrifter
OP said it's hot where it connects to his box terminal. That's the source of resistance. Eliminate the terminal and run the wires straight through, no problem. If the entirety of the wire was getting hot that'd be a different story ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

HHR Ed
Most likely it's a weak connection at the terminal. Drill a small hone, squeeze the wire through, and terminate direct to the woofer, then seal the wire hole with goop. Just as said above.
