TaurusBass1021
I came across a good deal and wondering if I should buy it or not. The guy has 5 subs total. All are kicker cvr 12s, 2 are silver/grey with one blown in a kicker specific ported box and the other 3 are the newer black ones and 2 of those are blown. He was asking 150 but i managed to talk him down to 125. Should I buy these to replace my pioneer TSW304r's? And also would it be possible to recone one of the bad black ones with the good silver working driver to have both working subs with the black plastic part? Pics are below. TaurusBass1021
The pioneers sound pretty good for them only costing 50 shipped off amazon. They were given to me with the box from my brother in law. Just Ive had cvrs in the past and they never dissapointed me. Figured maybe the blown cvrs could maybe be rebuilt with other stronger internal components. I want to maybe try and attempt to make a frankensub out of it if possible. I like rebuilding things and want a new project to work on.
firebirdude
I doubt you'll be able to rebuild em. And I don't think Kicker sells recone kits for the CVR....? I'd go into the deal with the mindset you're paying $125 for two CVR's and two boxes. If you think it's worth that, then dive in. Could always use the blown ones as paperweights. Or I've been told they might work as magnets.
TaurusBass1021
I just figured that they would sound better and be louder than my pioneer 12s and its actually not costing a dime since I have someone interested in my pioneers and an old amp that i dont use anymore that Im gonna sell. SIDE SHOW
keep the pioneers and build a ported box for them... they are cheap subs, but don't sound too bad and can get pretty loud. what box are they in atm?
