Titan Audio
I know it looked easy but damn it was more work than i anticipated. Came out good though i think 2015 RAGE'N X TOY HAULER CAMPER SOUND SYSTEM & MODS - NEW BATTERY BANK - UGLY WIRE FIX (VIDEO 1) https://youtu.be/XH-P7hrCSXg Looking damn good!! I'm really looking forward to your progress on the truck and trailer since we both have similar setups with similar goals for them. You're on the right track with running wire up to the alternator instead of messing with the converter in the trailer. The converter puts out 30 amps per circuit at best and they are notoriously low quality. They're also not great at charging batteries, especially AGMs, so an intellicharger or something would be nice for when you're at your shop. The fact that you don't seem to be getting any appreciable charging from your truck bothers me. Have checked the plug with meter to see if it's putting out voltage? You did take the relay in the plastic bag in your glove box and put it in the fuse box under the hood? For some reason Ford doesn't install it at the factory or dealership and your truck won't charge the trailer without it. That only gets you 15 or so amps, but it will certainly help when you're running down the road and not connected through the quick connects (I'm assuming you won't keep them hooked up while you are towing down the road). Hopefully that helps. Keep up the good work.

Did you see what WAS there? it will be fine. HUGE improvement over what was there in terms of capacity and looks. I was just picking your brain, I'm sure you do way more installs in a month than I would probably do in my entire lifetime. Are you having issues with the charging? Someone mentioned something. If you have a new F150 I think they have the ford BMS like my Taurus does, factory amp clamps to tell the pcm the draw so it can ramp up the alternator output. When I upgraded my factory ground up front my voltage dropped, I had to fish the ground from batter to fender through the amp clamp to restore the charging function properly, and I had to let it sit for several hours completely untouched so the BMS would do a "reset"

meade916
I sorta have 2 builds going at once...the Toy Hauler AND the F150. I am just getting started so it's nothing wild yet but these two builds are related during this current phase. Now for the pics. AGAIN: for this to make sense, click the link at the top of this post....i have a separate thread on the toy hauler battery bank install! the alternator is DEEP! I am going to put up a video and you will see. Sure am glad i have a lift though! Taking apart your vehicle for the first time is nerve racking. I don't know what i am doing but i am diving STRAIGHT IN!! The alternator is down there, somewhere. FTL. LOL look close, i found the positive post on the alternator! Can you see it? lol My favorite spot to grab an engine ground is right on the alternator bracket. It was a pain but i got it! Time for the big three...and maybe a battery upgrade. 1 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
why didn't i use fancy terminals you might ask? because these stock terminals have a lot of stuff on them! The factory positive has a 125 and a 250a mini ANL fuse on it. Of course i ran my own fuse for the aftermarket stuff. I was lucky i was able to get these cables on. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done! Plugs in nice! No joke, the trailer used to get nothing. Now it gets 14.4-14.6v. It's wonderful! 2 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong!
