Ya i couldn't believe how badly the bolts were caving in that door. I knew it was hollow but damn not that hollow. Being a trailer i know the manufacturer is trying to cut weight anywhere they can so it isn't out of the ordinary. But this solution worked well. Plus, the wall mount tilts giving me access to two spring clips. I pull on those and the screen pops off very easily. I lay it on the bed for transport so it isn't pulling down on the door for 5 hours of road trip Just hang it back up, plug it in as soon as we arrive at our site and it's good to go. I like this MUCH better. 2 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong! meade916
also, for those wondering why it references "Sand"....well we love to go to sand dunes with the toy hauler (and the toy). So i thought it was a nice little "home sweet home" sign for our home away from home. meade916
I have been trying to think of a good way to turn my ramp (the rear hatch) into a usable platform for a long time. Once we get to the spot we are staying at, especially at the ocean (Pismo dunes), it's nice to open that back area all the way and let the cool air in. It's about 8' x 8' or so it will be nice to have that patio space. I know i could have bought something that would work but i own 2, soon to be 3 CNC machines. I can make or in this case, re-purpose something else. The hardware you see cost me about $70 bucks. It's about $30 in HDPE material for the platform and the cups. It started out with me at Home Depot this morning on a totally different mission. I saw these things and the light bulb in my brain lit up. Adjustability due to the uneven surfaces we usually camp on is critical. meade916
I used black HDPE to create the platforms and the little cups. Since we do a lot of camping in the sand, a big fat flat bottom for a surface is better than having a couple of poles. meade916
These things hold 250lbs each. I plan on adding a third in the middle for even more capacity now that i know this works :D. Also, it is a hatch, on hinges, attached to the trailer...so a LOT of the weight capacity will be taken care of by that. It feels very sturdy so far!
