Charger
Looks like I was 'stuck' with the flat wall. Once I finally decided on the final baffle orientation it was time to make the final baffle. Here it is roughly cut out, only thre layers thickKeep in mind this is only roughly cut out, and not screwed together, just sitting in place.I decided five layers should be plenty, here they are roughly cut out and loosely screwed together in a sandwich so I can drill the centres for the woofers, this is for the router jig to run off, so they all are in pretty much the same spot. Saves marking shit out five times!!So I cut the first two layers out only, just to make sure everything lines up, you can see the first laye is the flush layer, with the second being the layer the subs mount to. I wanted to make sure nothing was screwed up before I cut all five out. Here it is sitting in the car.. it's rough here.. I knowSo then I proceeded to cut out all five layers when I was happy with it all. I test fitted a sub just to check a few thingsKeep in mine this is only loosely and roughly assembled with only two or so screws per layer holding it together, I trim everything dead true and laminate the sheets together properly soonA shot from the rear, I gave the last layer a light shamfer to hopefully help turbulence. This isn't an SPL car, but I like to do what I can. As promised, I said I would make it look tidier. Here is the baffle trimmed up and ready to fit. Charger
This is how I installed the baffle, steel angle, 3mm thick, all the way around the box. Screws driven deep into the shell and also high strength construction adhesive.Remember the troublesome transmission tunnel.. It gets completely glassed over. I will show you how it ended up soon. Here is the baffle first installed into the car,it's still rough.. you can see the high gloss black paint I have started coating the inside of the box with. It's winter in Australia... it's damn cold, it takes a long time for the shit to dry!You can also see the foam around the trans tunnel just to make things 100% air tight...it'll be trimmed back soonI placed some subs in, just for fun. The bottom sub is just sitting in place, hence the angle. The thing started copping some high build (The powder blue), to make things look neater. The baffle will eventually be trimmed in nice material anyway. Here is the surface finish inside the box... Remember the trans tunnel? And the corners that were all glassed up Port surface coming along Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
Charger
Some more pics of the box, the baffle has been high filled and smoothed out completely, the cold weather is being an absolute pain for the paint and resin to cure. Some pics of the portI'm hoping it's reasonably loud, I really really want things to be trimmed up nicely around the box, but it's a case of waiting for my trimmer. Finally, a shot through the sunroof Experimenting with wheel and tire size. Seeing what will fit seeing how low the rear is, the front is easy, once I get rims I'll lower it to suit. The rear soaks up these 9.5s piece of cake. These aren't mine, just for a test fit. The second pic it's pretty much sitting on the battery tray at the rear... lol Yes I know the front fitment is a little Mexican, but when it's lowered they will camber in perfect I'm thinking These are just test fit rims anyway Even though there's only four subs, I like to label everything neatly, this heatshrink is a good idea so I can keep an eye on what's going on. I threw two subs in just for an idea on how things would look.. So as you can see in the previous pics, I high filled the baffles and sprayed them in 'I thought that was primer not the final coat' as my mate Dave called it, beige.I also trimmed around the box in beige carpet, it's not a 100% match although it still looks better than MDF and fibreglass drips. Then it was time to fit the panel over the fuel pump access hole. Please excuse the wonky jigsaw cuts, it's hidden anyway. Then time to add some of this Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
Charger
Time to install it, yours truly inside the box. It was a squeeze. Here is the holeAt this point in time I realised some of the paint inside is still tacky I love this impact gun, killer for screwsStrong.A bit of foil tape over the top to make it kinda flat.More to come Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos

Charger
But before putting the last one in, I wanted to go inside one last time to check out the cables and make sure it's neat enuffLast sub installed, had to unscrew the rear of the console and shift it to the side to get it in, easy.Gotta love a sunroof Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
Charger
So I stripped the whole trunk again for one last rebuild after the mock up, time to assemble everything properly and with the whole trunk clean. 99% of all the amp/batt wiring in.. Most of the factory boot carpet and trim fits, which is good. It's just sitting in place atm hence why it's a bit wonky. Wrapped some of the amp rack in the matching carpet. Mainly just so it's insulated incase one of the amp terminals gets a little closer. Put the amps in finally. They are damn heavy. Starting to wire em up properly Lots of cables, bolts and lugs The cheats way of tapping buss bars.... Started putting the RCAs etc. in Power wires DONE on both amps. You can see the one lug on the right taped up where I'm short one terminal!!! This old girl had a fright I like to keep my wiring neat Sub wiring, labeled just like the inside of the box Power wires An overall view of the trunk Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
Charger
Got my steering wheel back from trimming, so at least I can drive it without vicegrips now. You can see this is the theme the rest of the interior will be following once it's all done, don't wanna rush my trimmer as he is a friend and looking after me on this. It'll probably be doing it's first show outing with no seats etc. so she'll be a trailer queen. I hope you like the wheel. Charger
I also bit the bullet and got the rims I wanted for her, slightly bigger than the test fit rims. These are 18 x 9.5" on a +15 offset. Slightly different color centre too, shadow chrome. I think it looks great. I also lowered the front a few inches, I didn't want to go too retarded, as it is it almost lays frame static anyway at the moment, need to drive it out of the workshop on planks...whoops Front's a little 'mexican', it should camber in once it gets moved a bit more than just backed out of the shed. I've only ever driven this car once.. the day I bought it lol I wanted a car that looks cool, not just a plain old car with a stereo. I wanted a car that would grab attention at shows, on the street etc. even when closed up and no stereo playing or being shown. Obviously there are a few points needing tidying up, but I think I've got the look.
