I've never had an issue with the 4l60e. It's all about the maintanace

and after a transgo shift kit is installed.

I disagree. As long as you have a cooler. Even a $17 vetted servo helps. You'll be fine. I drive the he'll out of mine. No issues

iirc people have had issues with their swapped corvette servos cracking the trans casing.

How many full size Chevys had Kranny owned!!? I've had a few, got lucky with a few, rebuilt a few. You just never know

full size? none. had a 99 monte z34 with the 4t65 trans. slipped like crazy and went into limp mode a lot. dropped pan and accumulator. installed transgo shift springs for 1-2 and 3-4 servo (i forget the actual name for it, if thats not it) and it never went into limp mode again. shifts were still soft, but it helped a LOT.

I am going to test drive a 2011 Xcab silverado tonight, it has the 5.3L in it, 49000 miles too. I love the way these trucks look but I have never driven one, I hope it doesn't disappoint.

I prefer nbs over nnbs (nbs 99-07c) (nnbs 07-13) but that's just me

Buy one!! I am a sales consultant at a Chevrolet dealership, i never preferred any brand until i worked here, now i am spoiled to them!! I see customers all day long with over 200k on their trucks and they have no intentions of letting them go, youre too far away from me for a good sales pitch, so, i wont bother, but youll be very satisfied if you find the right one!
