The universal tone to set gains for a sub amp is 40hz. The sub level increases the output voltage. But using a multimeter doesn't tell you at what point your signal from the head unit AND amp starts to distort. You can do it, but you could possibly still distort the signal. Use the SMD tools map on this forum to locate someone local to you that has an oscope or dd1 to help find your distortion points and set your gains

^ yeah thats a much better idea.

But if your interested 75% of volume on most head decks is safe.

the 38.72v is calculated using ohms law. and the multimeter probes go in the speaker outputs.

Edit: Oh and if its subwoofer level then tune with the sub level at maximum (Afaik)

If you leave it till the last minute, it will only take a minute.

I used 1500 @ 1ohm to work out the numbers. Just calculate for 1 ohm.

So 1931 @ 1 and the amp will do the rest from there.

But like reedal said, if u can get someone nearby to DD-1 it.

If you leave it till the last minute, it will only take a minute.
