Just for fun, I bought this little Kenwood 4ch Class D amp to use in my toolbox boombox project and thought why not throw it on the Amp Dyno?

Amp is CEA 2006 certified and rated to deliver:

50W x 4 at 4 ohms or

75W x 4 at 2 ohms or

150W x 2 at 4 ohms bridged or

50x2 + 150x1 in 3ch mode

Box also says "Max Power 600W". True or myth? Watch to find out...

Wow, that's impressive from that tiny little amp.

I bet they are about to get a sales boost when this vid makes its way around.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Maybe so, but it is deserved! I bought this amp with my own $$, so no special treatment from Kenwood. Based on this test, I would like to try the matching baby 300W monoblock...

have you tested the forgate pbr?

I did a while back, but didn't video it and I don't recall the #'s. I have one 2ch 300x2 and one monoblock 300x1 in one of my vehicles. I have the 4ch 300x4 as well, but it's just 4 channels at 4 ohms...not bridgeable or rated at 2 ohms. This Kenwood is more flexible than the RF PBR300x4 and costs less as well. I'm known to be a RF fanboy, but Kenwood has set a new standard for mini amps with this series.

this little beast can work for anyone wanting to upgrade stock audio. it makes lots of amps look bad
