boxgeek217
Both of these would have been 1996-97. There was a guy in my town with two of the early Kicker Solo Baric 12s in a hatchback Mustang. He had some big-ass RF amp pushing them and it was pretty impressive. You could hear him from blocks upon blocks away. Everybody else was jealous as hell. After that I went to a local show and there was an S-10 minitruck there with a camper shell and a blowthrough wall containing 6 RF Power 12s and this epic extending amp rack on actuators that housed some strapped Punch 500m amps. It was brutally loud! I was hooked. I owned a pair or Punch 15s (RFP-1415s) before i owned a drivers license because of those subs! Quote What?! lahatte
I'm an old fart. I was the first in my town to have big speakers (I don't think the term "subs" had been coined yet)... I put a pair of Zenith Allegro 12" home speakers in a 1984 Chrysler Laser back in 1985... was awesome back in the day!
Joe Kralovetz
The speakers that made me fall in love with bass was a pair of home 12" Pioneer tower speakers on a old school 500 watt Scotts integrated amp that my cousin owned, at which point I later traded for that set up and was in heaven, until I was introduced to Cerwin Vega 15" tower speakers. Then when that wasn't good enough I got into car audio I bought a pair of 12" rockford power Hx2's in a obcon godzilla bandpass box on a Rockford 1000.1 amp and those slammed hard back in the day! Been in love ever sense always looking for the next best thing. 1 Quote 2007 Chevy Equinox Pioneer AVH-X5800BHS Big 3 2 runs of 2/0 Welding cable 2 - XS Power D3400 Batteries in Parallel - Fused at 250A Alpine MRP-2000D - Temp amp. 1 - ZV4 15" Rev

firebirdude
Ehhh tough to say, but the first real stupid loud system I heard when I was young was Diamond M6 subwoofers I think? Four 12"s .... it was the year 2000 though. So if those were out then, I think it was them. lol Edited July 14, 2015 by firebirdude
